Thanks to the full amount of project management tools, planning complex tasks has become more straightforward.

Collaboration and project technology has come a long way in the past few years. We are now able to track, simplify, communicate clearly, and collaborate within one software. No matter what industry your work is in or our team’s organization, a PM tool out there will fit your company’s needs.

There are two reasons why we switched over to Wrike:

CLIENT INTAKE

Direct API Integration – With direct API integration, we can connect our clients’ PM system directly with our Wrike project management tool. Direct API Integration is exceptionally beneficial to our team in that we have a centralized location for all client work across all of our clients.

Example: One of our clients leverages the Trello Project Management tool. Trello allows their team to organize their thoughts and creates business requirements internal to their business.

We prioritize and move projects/tasks over to the engineering lane/todo during our weekly sprints with them. Once this action occurs, Wrike automatically picks up the ticket, with all of the details, and creates one in our system under our “Incoming Request” workspace for our client.

Intake Ticketing Link – With an external ticketing link, we can allow each of our clients their URLs with their personalized fields to request support. Not all of our clients require their internal PM tool to work in, but instead ask for a one-off task. Intake link is beneficial for clients with a one-off project that may require some updates/touch-ups over time. Once they submit a request using their personalized URL, it goes directly into their custom “Incoming Request” workspace for our internal team to pick up.

TRACKING/REPORTING

Tracking – Our business is always trying to improve and be more efficient with our process.

With Asana, our team had difficulty tracking project/tasks resources. Our PM did not have the necessary tools to ensure that the project stayed within budget, based on hours spent.

In Wrike, each task allows us to track time spent with detailed comments. Reporting has been an excellent tool for us when we are estimating future projects with similar missions. We now have a benchmark based on prior experience.

Reporting – This is the main reason why we chose Wrike over Asana. The reporting ability has done cartwheel over Asana in the information available, and that is an understatement. During our weekly Warboard meeting, in which we discuss all projects’ status quo, we can easily pull up custom reports on the fly. As a business owner, I’m able to see actual progress for each of our clients. Reporting helps us tremendously when planning for future projects.
